Summary:Jennifer, the main character in my novel is a writer for a local newspaper. Her husband Danny was everything she had, until she lost him. The author has not yet revealed how he died, just how hard it is on Jennifer. Danny has been dead for at least a year, but little things keep reminding her of him. She has tried dating but the relationhips just dont work out.
Reaction: I feel horrible for Jennifer. I cannot even imagine losing a mate.

Summary: Jennifer receives a life-changing phone call from the priest in her grandmothers town about an hour away. He tells her that her grandmother Sam, has fallen and is in the hospital. Jennifer is devastated and surprised but agrees to go up to the lake. She visits her grandmother, but Sam is in a coma. Jennifer arrives at her grandmothers house where she always stays. She heads to bed, only to find some letters on the dresser. They are written out to her with a note from Sam.
Reaction: My reaction to this was also surprised. The was the story started out, i never would've guessed it had something to do with her love of her grandmother.

Summary: Jennifer begins reading her letters from Sam. The first one explains all the rules of the letters and just introducing the situation. Sam wrote: "Jennifer you must take your time reading these letters, for most will come as a surprise to you." Jennifer is surprised in the first letter with her grandmother telling her that she never loved her grandfather. Jennifer then cannot stop without reading the second letter. In the second letter, Sam tells Jennifer how her and her grandfather met. She tells of their conversation and ends with her grandfather saying, "will you do a soldier a big favor? Have dinner with me tonight."
Reaction: When i read this part i thought that it was very cute, but i can tell something bad is coming.

Summary:Jennifer continues to read her grandmothers letters. Sam is still in a coma, and Jen longs to talk to her and hear her voice. A child hood friend shows up on her door-step one day, asking how she is doing. She watches him swim many mornings and thinks about him. Grandmothers letters are beginning to reveal some interesting things. Jennifer realizes that her grandmother hadn't been as loyal to her as she had been back. Sam has been everything to Jennifer ever since she was little girl. Now that Sam is in the hospital, the lake house doesn't seem the same.
Reaction: When i read this section it had me wanting more and i could tell that something big was about to happen so i rarely put it down!

Summary:Jennifer decides to read a few more letters even though Sam told her to read them slow. She is bery intrigued by them, and feels connected to Sam through them. In one letter, Sam revealed to Jennifer that she never loved her grandfather. Jennifer is very surprised and blown away at the same time. The man who had shown up on her doorstep a little earlier, asks her out to lunch and she accepts.
Reaction:This section surprised me because not only was something revealed in the letters, but also Jennifer accted an invitation to lunch! with a guy!

Summary:Jennifer continues reading and Sam lets out some very revealing stuff. Sam had a lover, Jen's grandfather treated Sam very poorly, and many other things. But, on the other hand, Jen and her new man have been swimming every morning together and getting closer and closer! They have been letting each other in on very personal things. All the while, Jennifer longs for her grandmother to be able to hear her for she has so much to tell. She has always been the one who was there for her, even with the loss of her husband, jer grandma and best friend Sam was there and always knew just what to say to confort her in many ways. Not now.
Reaction: This section was a very moving section because of the way Jennifer is finally letting herself fall for someone.

Summary: Jen and her man only continue to get closer as time goes on. They are now eating every meal together and doing the things people who are dating, do. She constantly thinks about Sam, and continues reading her letters. She receives a call one day to come to the hospital quick, Sam is out of her coma. She goes there as quickly as she possibly can and tells her about everything she has missed out on. She tells her how she is now in love, how wonderful he is, and asks questions about the letters. Sam doesn't reveal anythign to Jen, only tells her to keep reading. Jen is very anxious and curious to find out who Sam's lover was. She continues to read the letters and fall more and more in love.
Reaction: In this section, i was a little emotional, like i was the one explaining things to Sam.

Summary: Jen cannnot believe what the letters are telling her. For some reason, she is getting the feeling that Sam's lover is still a part of grandmothers life. Sam continues to deny Jen any information. Sam's letters tell all about her feelings and how it was to finally be loved like she had always imagined. A letter tells about how the lovers would sneek out of town when grandfather would leave on business. They would go stay somewhere secluded just the two of them. Away from Sams husband and away from reality. Jennifer is more purprised every letter she reads. She continues to guess who Sams lover was, or maybe is.
Reaction:This section is a very revealing one and keeps you reading, especially to find out who Sams lover is

Summary:Jennifers lover reveals something that breaks her heart. She has finally let go and is in love for the first time since the death of her husband and now her current lover tells her that he has cancer. He is a doctor so she gets a little frustrated with him and tells him to heal himself. He has tried every angle of healing and nothing will work. They decide it is best to not think of what the future could hold, but rather how they will enjoy their last days. They get very little sleep, spending every possible moment together and making very womderful memories. Sam is very supportive to Jennifer and is there to support her when she needs it. Sams letters keep Jennifer a little sane and she uses them as her "away".
Reaction:This section brought tears to my eyes. i cannot imagine losing my husband and finding love again, just to find you are losing them also.

Summary: Jennifer and Troy enjoy each others company more than ever. They know it could end any second, but that also makes them both on edge. Jennifer is nearing the end of Sams letters and she has a totally different level of respect for Sam. She understands Sam better than she ever thought she could. She feels like they are connected someway now. Sam invites Jen and Troy over for a picnic one day and Jen realizes that there is a man there with Sam. Jennifers grandfather had died a few years back, and it turns out, well i guess you'll have to read the book to know the ending!
Reaction: The end of the book was very good. it didnt leave me with any questions and i felt all warm and happy inside.
